Your renovation questions, answered.

What to send, what to discuss and what to confirm before building or maintenance work at your Adelaide home.

From the first enquiry to planning the work.

These answers are general guidance, not a quote or a confirmed start date. Discuss your individual property and scope with Steve.

What kind of building work does MIC Building Services handle?

MIC handles kitchen and bathroom renovations, carpentry, decks and pergolas, roofing and gutters, tiling, plastering and general property maintenance. Additional repair and finishing tasks can be discussed as part of the scope.

Can MIC coordinate the trades for a renovation?

Yes. MIC can coordinate the carpenters, plumbers, electricians, tilers, joiners, stone suppliers and other specialists needed for a project. Confirm responsibilities and inclusions for your particular work when discussing the quote.

Do you work on older Adelaide homes?

Yes. MIC's services include work on character homes, such as carpentry, solid plaster, roof structures, brickwork and alterations. Existing conditions and any need for specialist advice should be considered when defining the work.

Which Adelaide suburbs do you service?

The core area covers Adelaide and the inner southern and eastern suburbs. The original service list names Adelaide, Norwood, Fullarton, Burnside, Goodwood, Parkside, Unley, Beulah Park, Torrens Park, Colonel Light Gardens and Westbourne Park. Check the interactive map and confirm your address with Steve.

How do I discuss a job or request a quote?

Call Steve on 0412 024 451 or email steve@micbuilding.com.au. Include your suburb, a description and useful photos. Mention any plans, material preferences, budget or timing constraints you already have.

What should I include in my first enquiry?

Describe the problem or improvement, where it is located and what you hope to achieve. Wide photos show context; close-ups show detail. Number multiple jobs and explain your priorities. Avoid sending sensitive documents that are not relevant to the work.

Can you give me a fixed price or start date straight away?

A reliable price and programme depend on the agreed scope, existing conditions, material availability and required trades. Ask Steve about the information or inspection needed for your job and confirm timing before making other arrangements.

Can I stay at home during renovation work?

That depends on the rooms involved, access, noise, dust and interruptions to facilities. Discuss day-to-day arrangements before work starts, especially if you rely on the kitchen or bathroom being renovated or work from home.

Can I supply my own fixtures or materials?

Raise this before ordering. Dimensions, suitability, delivery timing and responsibility for supplied items need agreement as part of the project. Do not assume a product is suitable solely because it fits your preferred style.

Where can I find MIC's licence and business details?

MIC's published details are Builder Licence No. 227943 and ABN 64 124 857 729. They appear in the footer of every page, along with the Adelaide service location. Contact Steve if you need further details for your project.
